Blog Awards #1

WHAT??? I was so surprised and so thankful that my little space here is getting noticed and considered for an award. I would like to thank all of you gorgeous people who have read, liked, commented and followed me!

THANK YOU!!! This means so much to me!!!

So, I was nominated for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award by the gorgeous Apoorva! She writes at That Weird Girl Official; a stunning blog and an amazing blogger! Please do go check her out! She writes about beauty, fashion, and like she says everything in between!

Before I move on let me introduce to you the originator of the award, CC Ramsey, and she writes at http://ccr-chronicles.blogspot.com/ and here is the post that started the award which still lives on today.

Moving on the guidelines for the award:

i) Display the award on your blog

ii) Announce your win with a post and like the person who nominated you

iii) Present 15 awards to deserving bloggers

iv) Post 7 interesting things about yourself

i) and ii) is done and as for iii), I do not have too many followers so I am going to nominate 5 bloggers. I would also like to mention that accepting the award is totally up to them and I wouldn’t be offended if they choose not to. I do not want to impose and make any one of you feel obligated to dedicate a post to the award.

My nominees are (wow, that sounded in my head like an Oscar intro);

Aisyah of AshChronicles

Malvika of Em’s BeautyStudy

Felicia of BeginnerBeaute

Laura of Laura Bruj

Caroline of My Oh DIY!

Again, please do know that there’s no obligation on my end for you to do this! And you guys are simply amazing and I can’t thank you enough!!!

As for iv), seven interesting facts about me;

Fact #1

If you didn’t already know I am an Indian classical dancer in training, however, I am on a hiatus from dancing because I have gained massive amounts of weight in the past two years. Why? A knee injury, a meniscus tear specifically. The type of Indian dance I do is called odissi and it is my passion above all else, even makeup.

Fact #2

I am not new to the blogging world or as they call it the blogosphere. I have been blogging since 2006 but I blog anonymously and it is a personal blog.

Fact #3

I know very little about hairstyle! I just am bad at hair and hairstyling. Even during dance performances (if you did notice one of my previous Gravatar pictures of me in makeup and messy hair) I would spend 45 minutes to an hour on my makeup and take only a minute to apply some product to my hair and run a comb through and that’s it!

Fact #4

I am obsessed with drawing eyes! Every book of mine from school would have one scribble of an eye. And they would always have full glamorous makeup on right down to false eyelashes!

This was probably drawn 10 years ago (or more), and my cousin sister kept it all these years.

Fact #5

I am a postgraduate student. Yes, I am a nerd! I have a Masters Degree and am now working on my PhD.

Fact #6

I learned martial arts when I was young. Tae Kwon Do to be specific! Haih-yah!!!

Fact #7

I am a former smoker and I am very proud of myself for quitting.

    • Thank you Arpita. Yes, I remember you being from Odisha! I actually discovered odissi pretty late. Had I known of its existence any earlier I would have started training the very moment I laid eyes on it!

  2. Hey there Hari! :DDDD Thanks for the award and sorry for the short hiatus from the blogging world. I just got back from a birthday holiday~wippeyyy!

*Pats back* a job well done at quitting smoking. I salute you, big time! :)) I’m not a smoker but judging from all the grumbles from smokers about quitting smoking, it sounds like breaking both legs are easier compared to quitting.

Those are great eye details! Do you draw a full face as well? I love to draw too 🙂 Wanted to be a manga artist when I was a kid but changed ambition bcz turned out, I couldn’t draw the exact same character twice… haha

    • You’re welcome! You have been one of my biggest supporters and we are fast becoming friends too! We definitely have to plan a meet up in the future or maybe do a collab.

Oh the smoking, that wasn’t easy. I have read somewhere that nicotine addiction is comparable to, if not as strong as cocaine addiction. I know a smoker who met with an accident and had internal lung bleeding, head trauma and almost died but when he recovered he started smoking again. That thing you said about smokers rather have both their legs broken than quit, it is not that gross of an overstatement.

SIgh, I always try and draw the other eye and they never match. They don’t even coordinate!!! And when I end up drawing the entire face, it ends up looking more like a Picasso than a da Vinci. So I just kept to drawing the eye, always just one side!
