So to preface this, I joined a competition by The Body Shop Malaysia last year and was chosen as one of the three winners. The contest was inspired by Nikkietutorials’ The Power of Makeup video. It was an Instagram competition so you only needed to upload a picture.

Again, I feel I need to repeat this…

Odissi dancing is sacred to me, and in no way am I doing this to take advantage or exploit the art of Indian classical dance makeup. It is also not my intention whatsoever to disrespect the art form in any way, shape or form. If you are a dance purist reading this, let me tell you I value and love odissi like I love God Himself. I am treating this post as respectfully as I can and I do hope that no offense is taken.

Ever since I posted my second YouTube video I already had the idea for my third video. I decided to film this Power of Makeup post.

      As much as I love my skin tone too being a guy means I have very textured skin which is more apparent after shaving. It is a little harder to work my way around makeup. Dance makeup is alright because it is for stage and I cake on foundation but I do have to be very careful with my normal makeup routine so that I don't look like I have makeup on upon initial glance…

  7. Hari can I tell you how happy it makes me that you are keeping up this Youtube video thing going! Firstly loved the selection of music and there’s nothing more satisfying than to watch a true make up lover and artist do this with so much passion and finesse! I can’t do 10% of what you’ve done here, you are truly skilled! Looking forward to more such videos 🙂
