Essence Mosaic Blush Review

It’s no secret that I love Essence as a brand. So naturally I’ve reviewed products from the brand in the past and a lot of my favourite products come from the brand.

Today I review the Essence Mosaic Blush in the shade 30 kissed by the sun.

The product.

The description on mine tore off because of a tab that was stuck to the bottom! UGHH!!!! Next pic is a clear one.

I guess that’s why it is called a mosaic blush; the pattern on the product surface. Not all the mosaics are the same colour. There are three different colours, a light brown and an orange shade both with a pearlescent finish interspersed with light orange slightly shimmery shade.

Hand swatch. I tried swatching each of the mosaic shade individually but on my skin the difference wasn’t apparent.

Description: A powder blush that comes in several shades  and in 4.5 grams of products or 0.15 oz of product (availability is a question and this will be updated; Essence Malaysia did reply to a customer that product is being restocked).

Price: MYR 15.90

I have a pic below where the product was used.

I didn’t actually use it for it’s intended purpose. I used it as a highlight. And that is typically how I use it anyway.

Pros:

Lovely shade and gorgeous effect.

Blends out well.

Not too shiny to be used all over the cheek.

Good price for amount of product.

Cons:

A tiny bit powdery.

It does fade off pretty easily which starts at about 3 to 4 hour wear.

This particular shade isn’t really pigmented because the colour doesn’t really show up, even on swatches (unless you are really light skinned).

Rating:

8.1/10

I love this product. I can get away with a tiny amount of this as highlighter during day time.

NYX Powder Blush (PB01, Mocha) Review

[UPDATED REVIEW]

I have written a first impressions post on this powder blush here (excuse the poor pictures). This is the review!

The product.

Significantly dented! Yes, I can wear blush have it go undetected or indistinguishable. 🙂

Description and ingredients.

Description;

It is, as the name says, a powder blush in a very muted darker dusty rose colour with a matte finish (PB01 Mocha). The packaging is plastic in a very simple and sleek design. There’s 4 g of product and they come in many different colours and also in both matte and frosty finishes.

Price: MYR 30 at Sephora.

Where to buy: Sephora stores nationwide.

Finger swatch. Picks up better with a brush! Trust me!

Pros:

Well pigmented.

Blends out very seamlessly.

Beginner friendly; you cannot go wrong with this blush.

It can be built up to as thick or as sheer as necessary.

Suitable for a wide array of skin tones (it is especially lovely on my skin tone 😛 ).

Cons:

It doesn’t seem like much on the brush when picked up and, due to that, one may end up picking up too much of the product (as I have done before 😀 😛 ).

Since it is a powder blush it does fade easily if used on top of powder foundation. This blush in particular does not have much staying power; it can yield approximately 4 to 5 hours of use before it begins to fade.

Ratings:

8.1/10

It is a pretty gorgeous blusher and I love it even more since it is matte. My only qualm is its lasting power. However, I am giving it a higher rating because it blends so amazingly and the colour is suitable for many skin tones.
