Product Empties #22

This was prepared months ago but I had PR reviews lined up and that’s why it’s been so long for this post to go up. But here’s my first empties of the year!

This is the Silkygirl Long-Wearing Eyeliner in 01 Black Black. It is a retractable eyeliner pencil with 0.28 grams or about 0.01 oz of product. It was a preloved item that was given to me and was drier formula which tugged on the skin when used on the eye. I used it on my fellow actors for stage performance for drawing on moustache and I would sometimes just dispense some product on my hand and use a brush to smudge out liner. It costs MYR 19.50 and safe to say I am not going to purchase it.

I have reviewed this; link here.

Yes, this is a whole bottle of product. Although I never opened it, it sat on the shelf for a bit too long and the oil spoiled. *cue wailing and crying*. Obviously there’s little use for this, but thank God this wasn’t a full sized one. I think I paid MYR45 for it. Sadly I can’t give my views on it. *cue second wave of crying and wailing*

Already reviewed, link here.

Product Regrets #11

I didn’t purchase this but this post is just so you don’t buy it.

Received this from the Sephora birthday gift this year (I completely forgot to add it to the last haul of 2017).

This is the Tarteist Lip Paint in the shade Birthday Suit.

I’ve used some terrible liquid lipsticks but boy is this terrible. I love your stuff Tarte! Not to mention, everyone is using the Shape Tape and loving it that it is on my wishlist.

But what in God’s good name was this?

What I like about it:

Cute packaging. Doe foot applicator is soft and rather flexible. Pigmented and comfortable to wear.

What I don’t like:

EVERYTHING ELSE! It is grainy, patchy, it settles into every line and crevice and collects there even with the thinnest, lightest application, moves around too much, grabs onto every dry patch. I don’t mind it being not a formula that doesn’t dry completely down but since it is so bad, it kind of adds to its negatives. A full tube is MYR 95 which isn’t too expensive but, you know me! Nope! BYE!

Tarte Gifted Mascara Review

Announcement; a sad one actually…

I’m killing LuxePaint.

The poor thing is so devoid of traffic so I decided I’d euthanise it and let it die in peace.

Posts there won’t be in vain though. I’ll transfer them to FiercePaint. 😀

Do excuse the LuxePaint watermark though.

I may end up re-shooting some pictures that are blurry which, if I do, will have the FiercePaint watermark instead.

The next seven posts will be from LuxePaint.

On to the review, Sephora Malaysia has samples of this mascara which I picked it up a while ago and have been using for about 2-3 months before I wrote this review.

Tarte is one of those brands for the environmentally conscious and the animal lovers; they’re vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without parabens, sulphates and all those harmful stuff.

I featured this in my 10th product empties post (link here). This is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara.

Standard natural bristles mascara. Non-waterproof. Comes in 0.16 fl oz (approximately 4.7 grams/5ml) for the sample size whereas full sized ones are 0.24 fl oz (approximately 7 grams/7.1 ml).

Where to buy: Sephora outlets nationwide (full sized ones are available online).

Price: MYR 34 (sample size) & MYR 85 (full size).

Bristles and wand are pretty standard and easy to work with.

Nice separation and curling.

Good volume on second coat application.

Although not waterproof, it hasn’t caused me the dreaded panda eyes (I need to mention here that mascara rarely smudges or crumbles on me).

The whole environmentally friendly, cruelty-free thing gets an extra point from me.

Pricey (duh high end!).

Not really lengthening.

Doesn’t really hold curl.

The non-waterproof aspect can be a pro or a con depending on the individual. So user prerogative is encouraged.

I love this mascara but I’d only ever purchase the sample size ones. Hey, spoiler alert, I am a cheapskate!

Products Empties #10

This is a first. All makeup items this time around (I’m considering makeup remover as makeup too 😛 )!

This is the Maybelline Clean Express Miracle Water. I have already reviewed it (post here). I wouldn’t repurchase this because I do prefer my Biore Cleansing Water.

This is a liquid to matte lipstick from Elianto which I put into a Product Regret post (here). This shade in that range, I absolutely hated but I did love another shade because the formulation was somewhat different. The product isn’t finished but it has kinda dried out, so, bye. Of course I ain’t purchasing this, it made my regrets post for God’s sake!

5 months is as long as a sample size mascara can stretch I guess. I did review this over at LuxePaint (post here). I wouldn’t repurchase this only because I do have many more mascaras to go through.

This is called an eye cream because it is used for sticking double eyelid tape. It can also be used as false eyelash adhesive. I have already reviewed this (post here). It has actually dried out so, adios! I did actually repurchase this because it is very affordable.

This is the Elianto loose powder. I have reviewed this (post here). I used a lot of this up for my stage acting performance. It is finally done. I need a loose powder but I don’t know if I am going to purchase this one in particular.

So I finally announced my giveaway winner over at Facebook and the winner is Hani Baharom.

Hani is actually a beauty blogger as well. Her blog is called State of Grace. Link here.
