Product Regret #1

We all have that one or more (or in my case, several more 😛 ) product that we bought with much anticipation and we try and try and try to make it work. The more we try, the more we get frustrated. We even try it on willing “victims” and still can’t make it work. That’s how this post took form and I have several more of these kind of posts coming.

Sigh, Elianto, I love you but not everything has been a hit with me. Today it is the Brilliant Riche Lip Colour which is Elianto’s line of liquid to matte lipsticks. I have the shade No5 (Bold) which is a bright pink colour. I have another one which I love (review will come soon) and before I get down to why it didn’t work for me let me show you pictures.

A swatch. Gorgeous isn't it? The colour is a little different here. The colour is similar to the colour in the previous picture of the applicator.

What’s good about it:

It is a gorgeous colour! The liquid dries to a complete matte finish which is smudge-proof and, as they claim it to be, kiss-proof too!

Why I didn’t like it:

It is so patchy and streaky on me that I just could not make it work. Every line, crack and dry patch on my lips was emphasized. I have tried single layer application; it is streaky with my lip color showing through. I have tried double swatches, it looked like I had paper stuck to my lips. I have tried swatching it slowly and spread it out and it still shows off the lines and cracks on my lips. I have tried exfoliating my lips before swatching, to no avail. When applied too thick a layer, it dries to look like I’ve had powdered doughnut. All in all, I just could not make it work. Hence why I decided not to wear it out, even during the recent stage play I was involved with. It is also why I chose not to write a review on it because I never could make it work for me in the first place.

Again, my disclaimer applies. This may work for you if you have smoother and less pigmentation on your lips.
