Nivea Essential Care, Lip Balm Review

This is going to be another short review about another lip balm. I love lip balms! I have reviewed 3 lip balms thus far (here, here, and here). It is the one thing that I always end up finishing in my makeup stash. This lip balm is quite a popular one by Nivea and you may have seen it, well, everywhere!

Pictures! 🙂

I just started saving cardboard packaging because they tend to contain information. Clear plastic is a little more tricky to save or properly tear off in the first place.

The balm.

Description:

It is a lip balm that contains shea butter that claims to protect lips from drying out. It appears white in the tube and swatches translucent.

Price: Retails for MYR 10.90 (prices could possible be lower with special discounts or offers and also depending on where you buy it).

Where to buy: It is available in most places that sell lip balm (almost every drugstore/pharmacy/hypermarket).

Pros:

It goes on very smoothly.

Has a nice vanilla scent.

Hasn’t caused me any problems or allergies.

Does prevent lips from drying out.

Cons:

It feels very waxy and so it can seem very heavy on the lips.

Melts with heat easily so caution needs to be exercised when traveling with it.

Note:

There are a few other things to note with this particular lip balm which I don’t really seem to have noticed with the three others I have reviewed. Some may appreciate it, others may not;

-It appear very glossy on the lips.

-The consistency almost feels like lip gloss on the lips once on.

-Application results in a thick layer of product on the lips.

This is one of those products that if you like how it feels, you’ll like it. If you don’t then you’d hate it. So, it really depends. I have tried to give you as much information as I can so it is your prerogative!
