ID.AZ Clay Mask Review

I can’t believe I’ve been sent products available at Watsons to review! I feel like a real beauty blogger!!!

The brand is part of the Id Healthcare Group which was initiated by Korean doctor Sang Hoon Park. What started off as hospital known as Id Hospital focusing on facial contouring, then grew into a plastic surgery empire. They decided to venture into cosmetics for people turning down surgery as an option due to the psychological effects. Hence, Placosmetics was born. The ID.AZ name on the packaging (as you’ll see below) stands for the brand name (ID) and the latter half refers to A to Z as in all encompassing (AZ). It goes without saying that this is K-beauty.

These products were sent to me by The Butterfly Project, whom also sent me the Bare Essentials products to review (post link here). Do check out that post to find out all about them! I got four clay masks, two of which I put to the test and two more which I am putting into a giveaway (look out for that).

The products. The two I used were the hydrating and the pore clean mask. Fun fact; the tubes are actually translucent so the colour you’re seeing is actually the colour of the mask.

Description: Clay masks that come in 150 grams or 5.29 oz of product. Comes in 4 varieties, i.e., hydrating, pore clean, brightening, and oil control. You only need to leave this on for 5 minutes and presto, wash and you’re done. The packaging does say you can leave it on until 10 minutes, so that would be your prerogative.

Where to buy: This is exclusive to Watsons Malaysia

Price: MYR 59

The first two below I did NOT test out.

Brightening Mask

The back of the tube has all the details.

Oil Control Mask

The colour is white but it appear a tiny bit blue due to editing.

On to the ones that I DID use; I tried out the Hydrating and the Pore Clean mask. It is as simple as applying it onto the skin and waiting for 5 minutes before washing and proceeding with usual skincare routine.

I was never going to do a cutesy shot of my trying out the masks so here we go. A meme instead. #funnymaskmeme

Hyrdrating mask

You can probably see parts where the product is not sticking to the tube thus proving my claims earlier that the tube is translucent and the colour is due to the product itself.

Water, Kaolin, Bentonite, Calamine, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Glyceryl Stearate, Pentylene Glycol, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract, Punica Granatum Extract, Leontopodium Alpinum Flower/Leaf Extract, Prunus Persica (Peach) Flower Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Tromethamine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Caprylyl Glycol, Cellulose Gum, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Moroccan Lava Clay, Butylene Glycol, Laureth-7, Myristic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Arachidic Acid, Lauric Acid, Oleic Acid, Montmorillonite, Squalane, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance(Parfum), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Mica (CI 77019)

See! I told you!

Pros:

Easy to use because it only takes 5 minutes.

Application is easy and dries fast.

A tonne of product for the price!

Skin feels smoother.

A tiny reduction of pore size (this is funny considering the one meant for this function didn’t do this).

My skincare (serum, moisturiser etc) goes on and absorbs ve after using this.

Cons:

Leaves a white cast right after washing it off (this is easily explained by the titanium dioxide).

Dries out the skin a tiny bit.

And by that extension, it doesn’t really hydrate the skin.

Rating: 7.2/10

This was underwhelming more than anything because I expected results with all the ingredients in it.

Pore Clean mask

The colour is actually grey, it’s just appearing blue due to the editing.

Water, Kaolin, Glycerin, Bentonite, Calamine, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Glyceryl Stearate, Pentylene Glycol, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum(Sugarcane) Extract, Saccharomyces Ferment, Sea Silt Extract, Charcoal Powder, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Tromethamine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Caprylyl Glycol, Cellulose Gum, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Laureth-7, Myristic Acid, Arachidic Acid, Lauric Acid, Oleic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance(Parfum), Iron Oxides (CI 77499)

Pros:

Easy to use because it only takes 5 minutes.

Application is easy and dries fast.

A tonne of product for the price!

Skin feels smoother.

My skincare (serum, moisturiser etc) goes on and absorbs so much after using this.

Cons:

Leaves a white cast right after washing it off (easily explained by the titanium dioxide).

Dries out the skin a fair bit.

Didn’t really minimise pores and I DO have pores! But it says pore tightening which is perhaps not the same as pore reducing. Maybe? 😛

Rating: 6.9/10

I preferred the hydrating one to this. And much like the other mask, results were very underwhelming.

Note: There’s a slight burning sensation during and a little bit after using the masks so this is definitely something to take note of.

I realised I had included a product that has already been featured on Product Empties #16 already, apologies for that. I usually keep the eyebrow pens even after it is emptied for the spoolie.

I have reviewed this product. Review link here.

This was pretty good. I did a whole battle of the cleansing waters (post link here). I wouldn’t repurchase because I already do have my fave from the drugstore (click here to find out which).

Already featured this on the battle of the drugstore micellar water post. I wouldn’t repurchase this although some beauty influencers are hooked onto to this to cleanse before washing their face. You know, the whole double cleansing thing.

You should check out my battle of the drugstore micellar water post (link here) to know why I wouldn’t repurchase this.

I was gifted this by a friend and not be an jerk but this made my skin a tiny bit dry. SORRY DANIEL!!!!!!!! It was otherwise alright. I didn’t repurchase this and so I wouldn’t go ahead to actually purchase it.

Again, as much as I love using face masks, I have never really felt a big difference after using one except being rejuvenated and refreshed. And this was no different. I have a couple more of this because it came in a bundle of 4 that cost me a mere MYR10. Repurchase again, no.

Jpeg

This is the famous Biore pore pack and boy oh boy is it satisfying to use! I don’t have visible black heads and so this isn’t something I need. But just using it and peeling it off is strangely therapeutic. I just wanted to see if I had all that problems on my nose to remove, which I had very little of. Won’t be purchasing this again.

Jpeg

I have a confession to make. As much as I love using face masks, I have never really felt a big difference after using one except being rejuvenated and refreshed. I don’t want to be an unappreciative asshole because this was a gift, but more than feeling refreshed and rejuvenated I didn’t really see a difference with my facial skin after using this.

Jpeg

Give this brand a try I say! Probably one of the best drugstore facial cleansers I have used in a while for its price. It’s MYR 12.90!!! This one in particular has dissolving micro-beads in it. I won’t be repurchasing this one but there’s another I am currently using which I will.

I have reviewed this (post link here).

I actually liked this brow pencil from Etude House but I dropped it and I’m guessing the product inside broke. Every time I sharpened it, the nib kept breaking off. I whittled it down until I couldn’t sharpen it anymore. Don’t think I will be repurchasing this.

Jpeg

Gone….. ALL gone! See why I don’t like sharpening makeup pencils!!!
